Ukiyo-e (浮世絵)

Represents the Japanese art of woodblock printing, where the real and the fantastic coexist in the same visual flow. Here appear yōkai (妖怪), supernatural creatures of Japanese folklore: mysterious spirits, sometimes playful, other times protective or frightening, bringing a magical and symbolic dimension to these compositions.

Ukiyo-e captures the fleeting beauty of the world. In Ukiyo-e, the ephemeral is not tragic, but natural, and yōkai spirits come to life, inviting play and reflection on culture and mythology. The work is completely handmade. What was conceived as linocut became, after months of experiments, a tactile ensemble cast in plaster. The forms are sculpted to withstand touch, and the details of the composition subtly render the relief and natural character of each represented element.
