Kintsugi (金継ぎ)
Which means "golden joinery", is a traditional Japanese technique for repairing broken pottery using urushi lacquer mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum.
Imperfection becomes art. Inspired by kintsugi and the wabi-sabi philosophy, the installation celebrates scars as stories worthy of being seen and cherished, transforming broken objects into beauty and balance. This three-dimensional object was handcrafted, then fragmented and suspended on an aerial frame. The spaces between the pieces evoke the gilded lines connecting the past to the present.
